Zoe-perry
Perry was born to actor Laurie Metcalf, and Jeff Perry. On the ABC sitcom Roseanne (in flashback), her mother played Jackie Harris in two of Perry's initial TV roles. But her parents would not permit her to perform until she reached the age of adulthood, for fear of the negative effects that stress could have on their child. Perry was shy throughout high school and wasn't a good actor. She began acting in the year 2000 at Northwestern University to gain friends upon her transfer from Boston University. Perry, after graduating from Boston University, relocated from Boston to New York in search of acting roles on television. Perry was able to land small roles in TV shows like Law & Order: Criminal Intent. However, homesickness caused her to move to California to find theater work. She performed on Broadway on Broadway in The Other Place with her mother in 2013. In 2015, Perry appeared along with Kevin McKidd alongside her mother in Eugene O'Neill's Pulitzer Prize-winning Drama Anna Christie. Odyssey Theatre Ensemble Odyssey Theatre Ensemble is located in West Los Angeles. Perry appeared in nine episodes of The Family, an ABC thriller The Family in 2016. In 2017, Perry was a part-time character in ABC's thriller about politics Scandal which starred her father. Also in 2017, she portrayed a younger version of Mary Cooper on Young Sheldon (a CBS spinoff The Big Bang Theory) in which she played her mother in a younger version. The role was given to her through audition, in spite of the fact that there is a connection between her family with the character.
