Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford was born in the United States. Ashford is an actor as well as a singer and dancer. As a young actress, she appeared in Broadway role, she was the role of Essie Carmichael in Wicked Legally Blonde Hair. Her role in You Can't Take It With You as Essie Carmahiel earned her an award for the Tony Award in Best Featured Female Actor in a Play. Annaleigh Ashford, Tony Award winner actor has worked alongside well-known directors and actors on stage and screen. She continues this award-winning career through her forthcoming projects. Ashford's next project will be a limited edition Hulu show called Welcome to Chippendales, created by Robert Siegel. The show premieres on November 22, and Ashford plays opposite Kumail Najiani. Ashford is engaged in the production of Searchlight Pictures' horror film Dust which stars Sarah Paulson alongside Ebon and Moss Bachrach. The film is scheduled to air on Disney DTC in the form of an Hulu Original. The film will premiere in March 2023. Ashford will return to Broadway and star opposite Josh Groban in the revival of Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. Thomas Kail (director) and Jeffrey Seller (producer), the same duo who produced Hamilton is directing the musical. Ashford was most recently seen as Paula Jones in the new Ryan Murphy FX series American Crime Story Impeachment based on the crisis in America that picked up Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky and Linda Tripp as principal characters as the nation's first impeachment trial in more than a century. Her two seasons on CBS show B Positive was her first significant part. It was created by Marco Pennette Chuck Lorre with the legendary Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo Ben Vereen. Ashford, who is not unfamiliar with Broadway won both Tony Drama Desk Awards as along with Outer Critics Circle Awards in her character of Essie. The actress has also performed on Broadway as a character in Sunday in the Park With George Wicked, Legally Blonde as well as the original character as Lauren in Kinky Boots for which she was nominated for a Tony Award. Ashford is a Denver origins native, and now splits his time between Los Angeles.
